Apple pie old fashion


Whether you’re planning a small vacation get-together or you want to settle in on your own and sip a seasonal cocktail without the eggnog, here are a few recipes from some of the local bartenders, bartenders, and restaurateurs that are sure to get you on the go.

FOR 12

1 bottle of Cabernet (Daou recommended)

4.5 ounces vodka (50 bleu recommended)

4.5 ounces cognac (Hennessy recommended)

9 ounces pomegranate juice

4.5 ounces flavored plain

Syrup (recipe follows) or

Torani cinnamon syrup

sparkling water

Mixed berries and citrus fruits for garnish

Mix the cabernet, vodka, cognac, pomegranate juice and syrup, mix and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Pour 4 ounces of the mixture onto ice and top with sparkling water. Garnish with mixed berries and fresh citrus slices.

Spiced sugar syrup:

2 cups of water

2 cups of sugar

6 cinnamon sticks

1 tablespoon of nutmeg

1 tablespoon of allspice

1 tablespoon of cloves

1 teaspoon of ginger

Bring the water to the boil, add sugar. Stir until dissolved. Add the rest of the ingredients. Remove from heat and allow to cool before mixing with other ingredients.

FOR 1

1.5 ounces of rye whiskey

1.5 teaspoons of cinnamon syrup (bought in the store is fine)

2 dashes of aromatic bitters (bought in store is fine)

2 dashes of apple blossom bitter

Cinnamon stick for garnish (optional)

Mix all ingredients except for the garnish, stir, allow to cool and pour onto ice. Garnish with a cinnamon stick if you like.






4 Christmas cocktails - ginger and pear sparkler

FOR 1

3 ounces pear syrup (recipe below)

1 ounce sherry

3 ounces of champagne or sparkling wine

Sliced ​​pears for garnish (optional)

Put all ingredients except for the garnish in a shaker. Shake well and pour onto ice. Garnish with sliced ​​pears if you like.

Pear syrup:

2 cups of pear nectar

1 teaspoon of ginger

1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Mix all ingredients in a saucepan on the stove, bring to the boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Remove from heat and let cool before mixing with the other ingredients.






4 Christmas cocktails - Boozy Hot Chocolate




Boozy S’mores hot chocolate

FOR 2

1 cup of whole milk

2 cups of heavy cream

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

1 teaspoon of salt

1/4 cup sugar

1 cup of milk chocolate chips

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

1/4 cup cocoa powder

1.5 ounces bourbon (manufacturer’s mark recommended)

Graham crackers and mini marshmallows or marshmallow cream to garnish

Hot chocolate: Mix the milk, cream, vanilla extract, salt and sugar and bring to the boil. Add the milk chocolate chips, the dark chocolate chips and the cocoa powder and remove from the heat. Whisk until the chocolate has melted and the ingredients are mixed well.

Cocktails: Divide the bourbon into two cups, then add hot chocolate, stir, and garnish with mini marshmallows or marshmallow cream and some graham cracker crumbles.
