6 new Italian restaurants in Bangkok to try this week


Plans for dinner tonight? Here is a list of Italian restaurants in Bangkok that have opened their doors for the first time late 2020 and all year 2021.

Bangkok is home to a myriad of Italian restaurants, and many of them have a large one Pizza our heart. Since we all agree that there can never be too many Italian restaurants, the new kids on the Italian block are here to check out. If you like pizza, pasta, risottos, and grilled Mediterranean meats and seafood, read on for the best new Italian restaurants in Bangkok.

This three month old eatery is no ordinary Italian restaurant. Tony’s incorporates New York’s marinara sauce into their Italian dishes, making it a modern Italian-American restaurant. To complement the existing food scene along busy Sukhumvit, Tony’s is all about white tablecloths, good food and a cozy atmosphere. From classic Italian dishes like spaghetti Bolognese to more sophisticated dishes like veal parmigiana, this new restaurant has a must-try Italian-American menu.

Note: Tony’s is currently closed due to the ongoing pandemic but hopefully will reopen soon.

Via Emilia

Although it opened not long ago, Via Emilia has already made a name for itself by making it onto the list of “50 Top Pizzas in Asia 2021”. This newly opened restaurant brings authentic regional cuisine from Emilia-Romagna to Bangkok and offers guests a family atmosphere. Giglio Trattoria Fiorentina

Since this restaurant opened in 2020, Giglio Trattoria Fiorentina has been a popular choice among Bangkok’s foodies. Founded and managed by Chef Manuelo Pintore and Paolo Vitaletti, this eatery is based on Tuscan cuisine and allows guests to enjoy juicy grilled meats, traditional focaccia sandwiches and handmade pasta in a hospitable environment. Salvia, located in the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok, replaces the French gourmet restaurant Tables Grill and has opened as a modern Italian restaurant. The food served in this osteria inspired by the Italian Quarter reflects the Piedmontese and Sardinian roots of Chef Roberto Parentela. Salvia’s menu includes artisanal Italian cold cuts, wood-fire Napoletana pizzas, and grilled meat. Ristorante Riva Del Fiume

The Riva Del Fiume Ristorante is a seasonally inspired gourmet Italian restaurant that opened its doors for the first time in December 2020. The restaurant is located in the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok on the Chao Praya River and exudes an atmosphere of Lake Como and serves a variety of contemporary Italian dishes such as Crudo, Schiacciata, Pasta, pizza, risotto plates and more. Milan Scala

Granted, La Scala isn’t exactly a new Italian restaurant in Bangkok, but it’s very popular and has a makeover this year.
