Allison’s easy pizza and dessert braids

Race fans gear up for Sunday’s Daytona 500! The race sells out, but if you’re watching from home with your friends and family, Allison Gargaro, chief meteorologist for the FOX 35 Storm team, has two recipes perfect for your race day watch party: Pizza and Dessert Braids !

– 1 sheet of puff pastry
– ½ cup pizza sauce
– 1 cup mozzarella cheese
– 12 pepperoni slices
– 1 tablespoon. parmesan cheese
– 2 TEA SPOONS. dried oregano

– 1 sheet of puff pastry
– ½ cup Nutella
– 1 banana, sliced
– 3 TBSP. melted butter
– Powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Lay out the puff pastry sheet. Pour the pizza sauce into the center of the puff pastry, leaving about an inch at the top and bottom. Scatter the cheese on top in an even layer. Then top with the pepperoni slices.

Spread Nutella on top for the dessert braid and top with the banana slices. Next, cut 1-inch slices diagonally to the left and right of the stuffing. Trim the corners, leaving about an inch margin at the ends for folding. Fold the top edge down and start folding alternately the left strip and then the right strip until you reach the bottom edge. Sprinkle with the melted butter, Parmesan, and dried oregano mixture.

Bake for 20 minutes and serve immediately. Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping and top the dessert braid with powdered sugar!

Watch them Daytona 500 Begins at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, February 20 on FOX 35.
