Historic York building that houses two popular restaurants is set to sell for £1.1million

This iconic York building is up for auction – and if you have a million left, you could buy it.

The building is 2 and 2a Lendal and currently houses two restaurants, Zizzi and Nola. They are not affected by the sale and will continue to trade there.

It will be auctioned off on July 12 by commercial real estate auction house Acuitus.

They have set a target price of between £1m and £1.1m for the investment in the property-owned restaurant.

The listed property was built in 1816 as a parish chapel. More recently it housed a popular arcade, The Dome, before housing the restaurants.

According to the sales documents, 2-2a Lendal has a total surface area of 6,248 square feet on the ground, basement and first floor and brings in rent of £85,000 per year.

They say: “The property, an attractive Grade II listed detached building, comprises ground floor, basement and first floor accommodation.

“The property is rented by two separate restaurants, the larger of the two acts as Zizzi on the first, part ground floor and part basement. The other trades as Nola at mid and lower levels.”

The auction will be streamed live. Visit the Acuitus website for more information.
