New Mediterranean restaurant opens in Benfleet


A FLAVOR of the Mediterranean has arrived in Benfleet and is already causing a stir among food fans.

The Marble Restaurant at Hauptstrasse 9-15 is a family run business serving food from all over southern Europe.

The family running the new restaurant have around 15 years of industry experience as chefs, as well as experience in marketing and customer service.

They say they hope to “exceed” people’s expectations with their knowledge.

Olivia Worobec, an economist, said although the restaurant only opened on Tuesday, the reception has been “amazing” both in person and on social media.

She said: “The response has already been overwhelmingly positive, with many residents simply wishing us success and happiness, which touches us deeply.

“The phone is ringing, we’ve had several messages and comments on our social media, it’s just incredibly nice to already have such support.

“It has certainly been a long road to get the restaurant ready for people, but to finally open, summer is the perfect time.

“We’re so, so excited.”

The restaurant is mainly influenced by Greece, Italy, Lebanon and Turkey; all with the chef’s unique touch.

It offers both dine-in and takeaway services and is open daily from 12:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The menu offers more than 75 options for different types of starters, main courses, vegetarian options and house specialties.

The name Marble was inspired by the island of Marmara in the Sea of ​​Marmara between Greece and Turkey.

Ms. Worobec explained how the name reflects her unique restaurant and its goals.

She said: “A city in marble is famous for its marble and the history, culture and geography that we owe to the name.

“Just as marble is a beautiful name stone used for stunning foundations that stand the test of time, we set out to create our restaurant, something customers can enjoy for years to come.

“We serve fresh, delicious and flavorful Mediterranean cuisine, featuring a range of classic favorites and well-known dishes, but with a chef’s unique twist.”
