Sauces are one of the most popular ways to add flavor to a dish – recently from Technomic Flavor Consumer Trend Report notes that 60% of consumers say so. Sauces can be added to many items on menus to increase appeal – but for servers, adding homemade sauces to a number of menu items can be labor intensive, which is not very feasible, especially now when dealing with a labor crisis.
Luckily, operators aren’t required to prepare sauces from scratch for added flavor, pleasure, and appeal. What’s more, sauces don’t necessarily have to be innovative or made with new flavors – the classics sell very well – making them easy and versatile to add to popular dishes. Operators can use CHEF-MATE® pre-made cheese sauces, chilies and entrees on the menu throughout all times of the day – breakfast, lunch, dinner and even snacks – to enhance consumer enjoyment and increase the indulgence factor. Here are a few ways to add sauces, chilies, and appetizers to the menu.
breakfast: Offer a mashup of two breakfast favorites, corned beef hash and eggs benedict. Eggs Benedict made with Chef-Mate Corned Beef Hash and MINOR’S® Hollandaise Sauce come together in minutes for a hearty, filling and comforting morning meal.
Having lunch: Chili Dogs, a comfort food classic, are easier than ever when made with CHEF-MATE® Beef Hot Dog Chili Sauce. Simply sprinkle chili on each hot dog, then sprinkle on mild cheddar cheese for a melt-in-the-mouth, delicious dish.
Dinner: Combine guests’ love of home cooking with global food trends by serving up a Mexican burger. Start with a black bean burger patty and a whole wheat hamburger bun, then garnish with red onions, peppers and onions and finish with CHEF-MATE® Que Beuno White Queso Sauce for a tasty twist on a menu classic.
snacks: Charged fries are getting an update. Southern Fries with sweet potato wedges and cheddar cheese and CHEF-MATE® Country Sausage Gravy give guests a unique option to indulge.
