Steel Division 2 honors the liberation of Italy with the latest expansion


The latest extension for steel department 2 is available now and it’s all about the Homage to the liberation of Italy. There’s a lot to look forward to, like new features, units, battlegroups, and other goodies.

Those familiar with World War II know that the Italian campaign is an important but unsung theater of war. More precisely, this was in the summer of 1944 on the Italian peninsula north of Rome. During this time, the Allied advance was held up by the Axis defenders. The transfer of several key Allied divisions to France causes a lull in fighting and allows both sides to plan their next moves.

For the Western Allies, it’s not just about fresh blood from newly organized formations, but also news from allied nations that have recently joined the cause. For the Axis, it’s all about reinforcing their battered divisions.

Features of the new extension contain:

  • Take command of eight new, meticulously researched divisions and access to four fully voiced new nations:

  • Dominate the battlefield with four new Axis battle groups including:

    • 5. Mountaineers

    • 4. Paratroopers

    • 26th Armored Division

    • 4a Division Alpini “Monterosa”

  • Lead a multinational allied force of:

    • 6th South African Armored Division

    • Italian Corpo Italiano di Liberazione

    • 8th Indian (Infantry) Division

    • Task Force 45

  • Access more than 300 new units, including infantry squads, with 22 brand new vehicle models, 4 new aircraft models and many new variants.

  • Enjoy new infantry model sets in all nations, featuring many different types of Italian soldiers in both Axis and Allied divisions, along with:

    • Gurkhas

    • German mountain infantry
