The countdown to the Future Hospitality Summit is on as the hospitality, travel and tourism industries await three days of expertise, experiences and exclusives

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – With just one week to go before the highly-anticipated debut of the Future Hospitality Summit (FHS) in Dubai, the Middle East and Africa hospitality, travel and tourism industries are gearing up for heated debates, exclusive announcements, unparalleled networking and outstanding experiences at the the region’s most prestigious hospitality investment event.

FHS begins Monday 19th September bringing together nearly 950 hospitality investment decision makers for three days of discussions, initiatives and exciting industry announcements as well as a variety of networking events, sports and fitness sessions and opportunities to visit some of Dubai, together newest attractions.

Hosted by Jumeirah Hotels & Resorts and co-organized by The Bench and MEED, the FHS brings together the investment communities of the Arabian Hotel Investment Conference (AHIC), the Global Restaurant Investment Forum (GRIF) and the African Hospitality Investment Forum (AHIF) to address key issues and set the future agenda of the industry – all under the motto Lead the change.

On the agenda

The curated FHS program features high-quality presentations from 185 speakers – including government leaders, hotel investors, owners, developers and industry experts – covering 40 sessions on technology, talent, investment, innovation, the ongoing post-pandemic recovery and more.

On day one, GRIF is on the menu, with industry leaders taking center stage to discuss the hottest topics affecting the region’s food and beverage industry. Days two and three will focus on Hotels, Resorts and Tourism and will address pressing industry issues including sustainability, innovation, investment trends, economic issues, procurement and staff recruitment and retention.

New ways to network

FHS 2022 in Dubai will feature eight not-to-be-missed networking sessions including the opening reception at 6:30pm on Monday hosted by Jumeirah. The event will be held at Mina A’Salam and will showcase the best in Arabic hospitality from Jumeirah’s award-winning chefs.

In addition, delegates can take their FHS experience to the next level and discover the best of high-end hospitality at Emaar’s networking reception at Address Fountain Views, a trilogy of luxurious skyscrapers in the heart of Downtown Dubai. The event begins on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Special events – from start-ups to sustainability

Under the topic lead the change FHS Dubai is home to a series of special events that outline the future of the region’s hospitality industry.

4:30 p.m. Monday: Do not miss the finale of the 2022 Sustainable Hospitality Challengea global competition for students to turn their ideas for innovation and sustainability into reality, on the main stage of the summit.

4 p.m. Tuesday: Experts from the hospitality industry have the opportunity to address the FHS audience in a special Open Microphone
session, with five minutes to show how they are Driving change when it comes to innovation, sustainable practices and personal growth.

9:30 a.m. Wednesday: FHS is the stepping stone for new businesses with which startup cavewhere start-ups based on innovative and sustainable business models can present their ideas to a high-ranking jury of judges and investors.

1:15 p.m. Wednesday: Top players in the hospitality industry are recognized during the Management of the Change Winner Presentation and FHS Award Ceremony, on the main stage where the winners of the Leadership Award, Lifetime Award for Services to the Industry and Be The Change Award will be announced.

10 a.m. Monday: Take a trip to Bustanica, the world’s largest vertical farm, and find out how Dubai is reducing its dependence on food imports by creating a year-round leafy greens growing environment. The 31,000 square meter facility is expected to yield as much farmland as twice the size of Dubai International Airport.

11:15 a.m. Monday: Get a seat at Fish Farm LLC, which focuses on breeding and hatchery of marine fish to support the local aquaculture industry and reduce dependence on imported fish from abroad. Established in 2013, Fish Farm has three plants in the United Arab Emirates and reached a production capacity of two million kg this year.

4 p.m. Monday: Visit Dubai’s latest technological marvel, the museum of the futurespanning the past and the future in what has been called the most beautiful building in the world.

5 p.m. Monday: Come out of your shell and visit the Turtle rehabilitation project in Dubai at the world famous Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Al Naseem. The only program of its kind in the region, the initiative has enabled the release of 2,050 sea turtles back into Dubai waters since its launch in 2004.
