A dazzling Miami restaurant and lounge made its debut in Dallas: Villa Azure is a new concept at the W Hotel in Victory Park with a cosmopolitan, international vibe that promises to offer the kind of food, drink, service and glamor you can find on the French Riviera. Opened November.
Villa Azur comes from three friends with extensive backgrounds and experiences. Jean Philippe Bernard has over 25 years of hospitality experience. Paul Breuza develops concepts worldwide. Michael Martin is an integral part of Miami’s nightlife scene (Opium Group, The Mondrian Hotel, LIV, Wall at the W Hotel) who brings his expertise in the nightlife industry to the table.
They swear Villa Azur will add a “sexy European touch” to Dallas nightlife.
Under the direction of Executive Chef Carlos Torres, the menu will have a Mediterranean theme, combining seasonal ingredients, international flavors and a stunning presentation, including more than one preparation at the table.
- Truffle burrata
- Pies à la Meule served at the table in a Parmigiana wheel and flambéed with cognac
- Dover Sole Meunière prepared at the table
- Whole fried chicken
Villa Azur Dallas is open from 5:00 PM to 12:00 PM, with breakfast and lunch in the hotel lobby. It strives for excellence in service while embracing the atmosphere and energy of a neighborhood hotspot and combining the upscale dining experience of the French Riviera while incorporating the bubbly vibrant Dallas lifestyle.
This includes entertainment, glamorous greeters, live DJs, fancy cocktails and dinner parties.
The restaurant is located in the former Cook Hall area to the left of the hotel entrance on Houston Street and has 150 seats and a further 20 seats in the bar and lounge area. The space was redesigned by interior designer Jose Jafif with a mix of neoclassical and modern trends and eclectic details.
In a statement, co-owner Jean-Philippe Bernard calls the design spectacular.
“I’m very excited to be opening a restaurant in Dallas with my friends and business partners,” says Bernard. “We look forward to sharing a next level experience with our future guests, a place where they can dine, socialize and celebrate, that combines culinary excellence and glamorous lifestyle. From the kitchen and drinks menu to the general Atmosphere and ambience, Villa Azur will definitely bring the authentic, vibrant and festive southern France energy to Dallas. “
“The Villa Azur is not only a restaurant where guests can enjoy fine French-Mediterranean cuisine, but also a ‘destination’ where friends can meet in a cozy but energetic atmosphere,” says Operations Director Genevieve Bernard.
Villa Azur is part of a wave of Miami concepts that are adding some Miami heat to Dallas. In addition to the restaurant, the hotel will also host a changing collection of contemporary art with works from the Markowitz Fine Art Gallery on the opening weekend.
